Legs That Kill

This piece is a handmade 4.5’ ft by 4.5’ ft stretched canvas made from 1940’s-60’s LIFE magazine articles, blown up and printed out media from 1940’s-60’s magazine articles, acrylic paint, gesso, pumice, tape, pen and ink. This work includes references to women’s expectations and their ‘place’, sexism, real quotes from 1940’s-60’s magazine articles, and other types of media based on the relevance of their positions back in this time period. There is light and playful colored acrylic paint to offset the darkness/seriousness of the quotes that are displayed.

This work was created in 2025.
